Victorian Rural Women’s Award Open For 2019

05 September 2018

The Andrews Labor Government is encouraging women involved in rural and regional industries, businesses and communities to apply for the 2019 Victorian AgriFutures™ Rural Women’s Award.

The AgriFutures™ Rural Women’s Award provides a platform to inspire and support Australian women to use and develop their skills to benefit their industries and communities.

The winner will receive a $10,000 bursary for innovative ideas and projects, access to professional development opportunities and alumni networks.

Finalists are selected based on demonstration of their commitment to the future sustainability of primary industries, their potential to achieve and deliver benefits to their industry, and their ability to provide leadership and knowledge within the wider community.

The 2018 Victorian winner was Melissa Connors from Kyneton for her project ‘This Farm Needs A Farmer’. Melissa is focussed on creating stronger and more engaged farming communities by connecting tree changers with established and retired farmers to facilitate invaluable knowledge transfer.

Melissa will represent Victoria in the National title in Canberra, to be announced on 15 October.

Applications close on 31 October 2018. For more information visit http://agriculture.vic.gov.au/agriculture/food-and-fibre-industries/rural-womens-awardExternal Link .
