Two New Appointments To The Magistrates’ Court

The Andrews Labor Government today announced the appointment of Fran Medina and Rodney Higgins to the Magistrates’ Court of Victoria.

Ms Medina has more than 26 years’ experience in family law, as well as commercial, property and general litigation.

Ms Medina has also worked as a Legal Aid Panel Solicitor for family law and family violence, and she has been the owner and principal solicitor of Mildura’s Medina Legal since 2012.

She has worked as a solicitor for the Mallee District Aboriginal Service and the Murray Valley Aboriginal Service, and is a current Director of the Mallee Accommodation Support Program.

Mr Higgins has extensive experience in civil litigation and family, criminal and employment law.

He began his career as a clerk and waterside worker before going back to university in 1989 where he completed a double degree in Arts and Law.

Mr Higgins moved to Shepparton in 2000 where he joined Faram Ritchie Davies Lawyers working across all areas in the practice. Since 2008 he has run his own practice specialising in criminal law.
