Tenders Open To Make Homes For Vulnerable Victorians

08 August 2018

The Andrews Labor Government is making more affordable homes available for vulnerable Victorians through its Inclusionary Housing Pilot.

Minister for Planning Richard Wynne announced today that an invitation to participate in the Pilot has been extended nationwide from today through Tenders VIC.

The Pilot is part of the Homes for Victorians program and has identified six surplus government sites with potential for mixed housing types in Broadmeadows, Boronia, Parkville, Wodonga, Reservoir and Noble Park.

Mr Wynne is offering the private sector a unique opportunity to purchase and develop one or more of the six sites and contribute to delivery of the Pilot.

The Pilot offers the opportunity to be part of a collaborative approach to providing additional housing for Victoria’s growing population, including housing for the most vulnerable members of our community.

A minimum of 100 social housing dwellings and a percentage of affordable housing homes will be provided across the sites.

Proposals will go through a rigorous evaluation process to deliver the best outcome for each site and the Victorian community.

The Expression of Interest process will close on 6 September 2018, with the preferred bidder or bidders to be announced in late October.
