The Andrews Labor Government is helping Tabcorp Park host the final of Victoria’s largest annual harness race series.
The Labor Government is providing almost $7500 from its Victorian Racing Industry Fund as part of a $40,000 joint funding package, towards the 2018 Breeders Crown Race Night on Saturday 25 August.
The Breeders Crown Series runs heats across Australia and New Zealand throughout July and August, with semi-finals previously held at Ballarat, Bendigo and Tabcorp Park.
The ‘Hot August Night’ themed Group 1 Breeders Crown Finals will feature a complimentary Neil Diamond tribute show, following the running of the last race.
A range of activities will keep children entertained throughout the night, including a face painter, balloonist, acrobat and photo booth.
Patrons will have the chance to have their photo taken in the King Chair in the main entrance foyer with a replica of the Breeders Crown trophy.
Tabcorp Park is contributing almost $7500 and Harness Racing Victoria is providing almost $25,000 towards the race night.
Since 2014, the Labor Government has provided more than $480,000 to support five infrastructure projects and 12 harness racing events at Tabcorp Park.
The racing industry in the outer Melbourne region generates more than $375 million for the Victorian economy annually and helps to sustain more than 3720 full-time equivalent jobs in the region.
