Supporting War Widows And Their Families During Legacy Badge Week

31 August 2016

Victorians can support the families of Australian defence personnel who gave their lives or health at war during Legacy Badge Week.

Legacy is one of Australia’s best known charities, providing support for more than 80,000 widows and nearly 2,000 children and people with disability since 1923.

In Legacy Badge Week, Victorians can purchase a pin, a wristband, a pen or a fluffy Legacy Bear to support the volunteers who work hard to protect individuals affected by the trauma of war and advocate for their entitlements and benefits.

Our veterans deserve the greatest respect. They protected us, and it’s our job to protect them and their families. They’ve earned it – for the rest of their lives.

The Andrews Labor Government is providing 600 travel passes for Australian Defence Force personnel to support the annual Legacy Badge Appeal on September 2.

We work with Melbourne Legacy to provide Victorian students with Legacy Tertiary Scholarships for children and grandchildren of ex-servicemen and women. The Labor Government also support the annual Legacy Ceremony for Students and the Summer Camp for Legacy Dependants with a Disability.
