The Andrews Labor Government is continuing to support local communities with the infrastructure and services they need to grow and thrive.
Minister for Suburban Development Melissa Horne and Minister for Regional Development Harriet Shing today announced hundreds of successful projects that will share $20 million in grants from the Labor Government’s Living Local Fund.
More than 400 projects across the state will be supported through the Fund, with $15 million available for suburban projects and another $5 million for the regions.
Local councils and community organisations have received grants of up to $200,000 for upgrades to shopping strips, playgrounds, community gardens and public art projects, or to buy new equipment and carry out minor refurbishment works.
One of this year’s key investments is a $200,000 allocation to not-for-profit organization DPV Health in Melbourne’s north, to complete an external upgrade at their Meadow Heights Community Health Centre.
Regionally, the Light Up Camperdown project has received $200,000 to increase its current lighting around the central streetscape, enhancing safety for the local community.
From playground upgrades in Pakenham to the creation of an Aboriginal community art gallery in Ballarat, the Living Local Fund is supporting a wealth of diverse and important locally led projects right across Victoria.
The Living Local Fund is part of the Government’s Our Suburbs: Living Local and Our Regions: Living Local Initiatives.
