Tabcorp Park Melton’s popular Seniors Race Nights will make a triumphant return this April, thanks to a joint funding package of almost $52,000 supported by the Andrews Labor Government.
Taking place on Friday 13 April and Friday 11 May, the events will provide seniors with an opportunity to enjoy an exciting and affordable evening of harness racing, gourmet food and quality entertainment.
The Labor Government is providing more than $24,000 to support the series through the Victorian Racing Industry Fund, and the Tabcorp Park Melton racing club is providing more than $27,000.
Racegoers will be treated to a discounted three-course meal for $32, and entertainment from country singers Jade Hurley in April and James Blundell in May.
There will also be a variety of prizes and giveaways, as well as a free shuttle bus service for group bookings of 15 or more, ferrying patrons to and from the racecourse.
The largest groups will also win naming rights to key races held on the nights.
Since 2014, the Labor Government has provided more than $448,000 to support five infrastructure projects and nine harness racing events at Tabcorp Park Melton.
The racing industry in the outer Melbourne region generates more than $375 million annually for the Victorian economy, and helps sustain more than 3720 full-time jobs locally.
