The Andrews Labor Government has announced the reappointment of Bernie Carolan as Chair of the Greyhound Racing Victoria Board and Robert Greenall as a board member.

Mr Carolan has been the Chair of the Board since 2015, a period that has seen the greyhound industry undertake significant reforms to improve integrity and animal welfare.

Currently the principal of the consulting and advisory service Caroplan, Mr Carolan brings extensive experience in transport projects, technology and operations.

His experience as a chief executive officer includes three years leading Victoria’s Transport Ticketing Authority from 2010–13, and six years as head of the public transport customer information and marketing entity, Metlink Victoria from 2004–10.

From 2012–14, Mr Greenall was a non-executive director of Dairy Food Safety Victoria, the statutory body regulating food safety for dairy products.

He was Director of the National Milk Harvesting Centre at the University of Melbourne from 2000–06, where he oversaw the centre’s core work in research and development and education projects, as well as some commercial projects and manufacturing.

Mr Greenall has a Master of Veterinary Studies (Dairy Medicine and Management) from the University of Melbourne, and a Bachelor of Veterinary Medicine and Surgery (Honours) and a Bachelor of Science (Veterinary Biology) from Murdoch University. He is also a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
