The Andrews Labor Government is backing Victorian company KeepCup – so they can create jobs and boost exports.
Minister for Industry and Employment Ben Carroll today visited KCS Australia in Lilydale where KeepCups are manufactured for local and international markets.
The Melbourne based company has received $253,000 from Future Industries Manufacturing Program to undertake a $1 million project to create 16 new jobs and invest in new equipment.
As part of the project, KeepCup has purchased six injecting moulding tools at KCS Plastics and it’s also allowing them to make food safety testing improvements to planning and inventory systems.
KeepCup’s expansion has also resulted in 11 new jobs at Nadrasca – a social enterprise who assemble and ship the product.
Designed and manufactured locally, over 8 million KeepCups have been sold across 65 countries around the world – helping divert disposable cups from landfill.
The company has offices in London and Los Angles and has 40 distribution partners across the globe. KeepCup’s revenue has grown threefold sine 2016 – a sign of the strength of manufacturing in Victoria.
Future Industry grants support job creation by helping Victorian companies implement new manufacturing technologies, improve productivity and target new export opportunities.
Victoria’s manufacturing industry contributes $27.7 billion to the Victorian economy, with over 13,000 businesses employing more than 280,000 people. It also exported $18.16 billion of manufactured goods in 2016-17.
