Opening Of Community Harmony Grants Program

16 May 2018

New grants are available to help Victorians to build greater community harmony and social cohesion in their communities.

The Minister for Multicultural Affairs, Robin Scott, today announced the opening of the Community Harmony Grants program.

The grants will enable Victorians to build relationships and partner with one another to increase trust, understanding and belonging, and boost respect for each other and our common values.

The program supports Victorians to have a strong sense of belonging – regardless of their religion, ethnicity, cultural identity, gender or sexuality – and reflects the values of the Multicultural Policy Statement,
Victorian. And Proud of it.

Importantly, the program provides an opportunity for Victoria’s multicultural communities to contribute, design and deliver tailored initiatives that respond to pressing issues that challenge our state today.

The program is administered by the Multicultural Affairs and Social Cohesion Division of the Department of Premier and Cabinet.

The 2018-19 funding round will close on 12 June 2018, for projects commencing in the 2018-19 financial year.
