New Leadership Signals A New Chapter For Regional Development Victoria

Minister for Regional Development, Jaala Pulford, today confirmed the appointment of James Flintoft as Chief Executive of Regional Development Victoria (RDV), along with the appointment of a new senior regional leadership team by the Department of Economic Development, Jobs, Transport and Resources.

The new Regional Director roles represent a significant shift for RDV and will provide unprecedented levels of senior government leadership and accountability across the whole of regional Victoria.

Speaking in Shepparton this morning, Minister Pulford unveiled the new line-up for RDV, who, under the leadership of Mr Flintoft, will play a vital role in delivering the Government’s commitments to regional and rural Victorians under the Regional Statement. The department has appointed the following people to the roles:

  • Unni Menon Regional Director, Barwon South West
  • Leigh Kennedy Regional Director, Gippsland
  • Anthony Schinck Regional Director, Grampians
  • Matt Nelson Regional Director, Hume
  • Stan Liacos Regional Director, Loddon Mallee

They bring a diverse range of skills and experience from senior private and public sector roles and established networks within their regions and a commitment to working collaboratively to grow the regional economy and make their region a better place to visit, work and live.

The RDV Regional Directors will play a vital role in delivering the Government’s commitments to regional and rural Victorians under Victoria’s Regional Statement, including the transition of RDV offices to Regional Business Centres and the establishment of the Regional Partnerships.

The new Regional Directors will commence in their roles over summer, with all new starters in place by 27 January 2016.
