New Facilities a Slam Dunk For Mordialloc Families

10 October 2017

Mordialloc students will enjoy brand new sports facilities including a competition-grade basketball court, thanks to the Andrews Labor Government.

Minister for Education James Merlino and Member for Mordialloc Tim Richardson visited Mordialloc College today to unveil the final stage of the school’s $6.6 million upgrade.

The redevelopment includes a new gymnasium, which includes a basketball court, weights, storage rooms and change rooms as well as an outdoor hub and new performing arts centre. The entire community will benefit from the new facilities with the gym being available for general public use outside of school hours.

The project is part of the Labor Government’s $2.5 billion investment, over the past three Budgets, to improve classrooms, upgrade facilities and build new schools across the state.

This school building boom has delivered more than 1,000 school upgrades and 56 new school projects across the state, supporting almost 5,000 construction jobs for Victorians.

The Government is building the Education State so that every student can access a great local school and get a great education.
