New CEO For Accident Compensation Conciliation Service

12 September 2018

Ms Agata Jarbin has been appointed as the new Chief Executive Officer and Senior Conciliation Officer of the Accident Compensation Conciliation Service (ACCS).

ACCS is a key part of the Victorian workers compensation scheme, which provides conciliation services at no cost to injured workers to assist parties to resolve disputes.

Ms Jarbin brings outstanding credentials to her leadership role at ACCS – most recently as the Acting CEO of State Trustees where she was responsible for the delivery of professional services, corporate legal services and compliance programs.

In a legal and business career spanning more than two decades, Ms Jarbin was a partner at global law firm King & Wood Mallesons, and an alumnus of Leadership Victoria’s Folio Community Leadership Program.

She has a Diploma of International Arbitration, Graduate Diploma of Legal Practice, Bachelor of Law and Bachelor of Economics, and is an accredited mediator and arbitrator, and a member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators.

She is also a passionate advocate for people living with mental illness, particularly in her continuing role as chair of ERMHA – a not-for-profit organisation supporting people experiencing mental illness and cognitive disability, and their carers.

Ms Jarbin’s appointment marks a period of significant change at ACCS following its establishment as a statutory authority in October 2017.

Quotes attributable to Minister for Finance Robin Scott

“Ms Jarbin brings a wealth of experience to the role and will be an inspiring leader for ACCS, which was established by the Labor Government to improve the provision of timely, quality, accessible conciliation services.”

“I thank Anita Kaminski, Senior Conciliation Officer at ACCS for the last two years, for leading the organisation with passion and commitment through the period of transition to a statutory authority.”
