New Board Members For Workers Compensation Service

The Andrews Labor Government has appointed Meriel O’Sullivan as Chair of the Accident Compensation Conciliation Service (ACCS).

Ms O’Sullivan is Director of Redd Consultancy and was previously Deputy Chair of ACCS, which helps resolve worker compensation disputes by bringing together workers, employers and WorkSafe agents in an informal, non-adversarial and free process.

Julie Ligeti is stepping down from the position of Chair of ACCS, however will remain on the Board as Director.

Current board member Karen Cusack – Health Complaints Commissioner and member of the Disability Services Board – has been appointed as a Director of the board.

Another current board member Tali Bernard – an experienced family law and alternative dispute resolution practitioner – will now take up the position of Deputy Chair of the board.

Appointments are for a three-year period to May 2021.

The extensive experience and expertise of the board will provide continued leadership to the ACCS and support positive outcomes for injured workers.
