21 August 2016

The Andrews Labor Government today announced it will be a foundation partner of ABC International’s Australia Plus International media service, giving Victoria more exposure as a global investment, study, tourism and events destination.

The landmark three-year deal will give Victoria exclusive access to promote the state’s many strengths on subscription TV, online and social media service, which is accessed by more than 190 million people across the Asia Pacific.

The new sponsorship agreement will be used to promote Victoria’s calendar of major events and business conferences, tourism initiatives, education institutions and key industry sectors in strategic markets including China, Indonesia and Singapore.

Under the partnership, Victoria will have exclusive access to the ‘Explore and Experience’ genre on all Australia Plus platforms.

In the coming months, the Melbourne Writers Festival, the Spring Racing Carnival, the AFL Grand Final, Spring Fashion Week, the Royal Melbourne Show and the Melbourne Festival are all set to be profiled on Australia Plus.

The new partnership further strengthens Victoria’s presence in Asia, which is spearheaded by the state’s extensive network Victorian Government Business Offices across the region.
