Game Changing Pavilion For Oakleigh South Netball

10 October 2018

Kingston’s number one venue for netball is set to become female friendly thanks to $500,000 from the Andrews Labor Government.

Minister for Sport John Eren today announced that Dales Park will receive a new female friendly pavilion thanks to the Labor Government’s Female Friendly Facilities Fund.

With over 1,500 members, the Kingston District Netball Association based at Dales Park is more popular than ever but the 13 clubs are struggling with an outdated pavilion.

The new pavilion will come complete with two female friendly change rooms, umpires change room, public toilets, first aid room, canteen, kitchen, administration office, community room, meeting room, umpire duty room, balcony, gym and storage space.

The Female Friendly Facilities Fund is part of the Labor Government’s strong commitment to sports and active recreation, gender equality and encouraging all Victorians to get out there and get active.

It’s backed by almost half a billion dollars in the Victorian Budget 2018/19 to ensure sport and active recreation continue to be accessible to everyone regardless of gender or location.

Minister Eren acknowledged Kingston City Council and Kingston District Netball Association for its commitment and financial contribution to the project.
