Delivering Great Local Schools For Frankston

30 July 2018

From birth through to high school, Frankston families will get the world-class facilities and schools their kids deserve with a re-elected Andrews Labor Government to deliver the final stage of the Frankston North Education Precinct.

The Labor Government has already invested $19.9 million for upgrades and new facilities at the precinct, which takes in Aldercourt Primary School, Mahogany Rise Primary School and Monterey Secondary College.

This includes a Centre of Excellence at Monterey Secondary College where students can learn trade and advanced manufacturing skills in partnership with local industry.

Mahogany Rise Primary School and the neighbouring early learning centre will also be connected by a new building, which will provide a drop off point for parents that also houses community support services for local families.

This will make a huge difference to the lives of local students and their families but there’s more to do and only Labor will deliver it.

A re-elected Labor Government will invest a further $11.2 million to finish the Frankston North Education Precinct, with a new early learning centre to be built at Aldercourt Primary School and a competition grade gym at Monterey Secondary College.

The Liberals slashed $1 billion out of our education system and left schools to crumble and decay across the state. This isn’t fair and it isn’t right – every family should have a good local school no matter where they live and only Labor will make sure they do.

The Labor Government has invested more than $3.8 billion to build 70 new schools and upgrade 1,300 schools across the state since coming to office in 2014.

That means thousands of Victorian kids now go to school every day and learn in new classrooms with better technology and facilities, like new gyms and science labs. It’s also helped create 5,000 construction jobs for Victorians right around our state.

A re-elected Labor Government will keep delivering for Victorians with more new schools and upgrades to existing schools across the state.

“Mums and dads in Frankston deserve to know their kids are getting the very best start in life. With this investment, Labor will make sure they are.”

Quotes attributable to Member for Frankston Paul Edbrooke

“Frankston is a great place to live and local families deserve state of the art schools for their kids. Only Labor will deliver the Frankston North Education Precinct.”
