The Andrews Labor Government is helping schools across Victoria turn learning into an artform by supporting partnerships with local artists, writers, actors, musicians and museums.
From Coburg to Clunes, 17 Victorian schools have received funding in the inaugural round of the Creative Learning Partnerships program.
The projects are being delivered throughout the year and are seeing schools infuse creativity across the curriculum – with innovative projects helping students learn about history, science, physics, technology, maths and more.
Examples include Rainbow P-12 College, which has partnered with sculptor Alex Sanson to help students learn about force, motion and energy, and use the findings to create a sculpture.
Students at Collingwood College will collaborate with artist and digital games designer Harry Lee on a multimedia project to boost students’ writing and performance skills.
The Creative Learning Partnerships program supports projects that use creativity as a catalyst for student learning. Projects run for a minimum of 20 school days.
