The Andrews Labor Government is delivering new technology to an iconic Horsham manufacturing business and creating local jobs, with a grant from the Regional Jobs Fund.
Minister for Agriculture and Regional Development Jaala Pulford today announced that Horsham-based business Smallaire will invest $500,000 in new technology and expand their operations with support from the Labor Government, creating eight new jobs.
Smallaire is a family-owned and operated business that manufactures components for broadacre cropping machinery as well as air conditioners for domestic, commercial and industrial use.
This investment will deliver new technology to the production line and enable the company to expand the floorspace of its manufacturing facility.
These changes will allow Smallaire to transition from a component manufacturer of air seeding products, to supplying fully integrated air seeding kits to the agricultural sector.
Starting out as a local business in 1974, the company now employs 19 local workers and exports to Russia, the United States of America, Canada, the Netherlands and South Africa.
The Labor Government’s Regional Jobs Fund supports new projects across regional and rural Victoria that build critical infrastructure, grow jobs and support emerging industries.
