Call For Members Of Victorian Disability Advisory Council

17 February 2019

Victorians with disability, or carers of people with disability, are invited to apply to be part of the next Victorian Disability Advisory Council.

Minister for Disability, Ageing and Carers, Luke Donnellan is seeking a Chairperson and 11 members for the Council.

Members of the Victorian Disability Advisory Council provide policy advice to the Minister on whole-of-government strategies to build a more inclusive Victoria and to increase opportunities for people with disability.

The Council has an important role in liaising with communities, monitoring the implementation of the Victorian state disability plan, and promoting rights and inclusion.

Since 2016, the current Council helped co-produce Absolutely everyone: state disability plan 2017–2020 and successfully argued for the establishment of disability employment targets for the Victorian public sector and better measures to improve disability statistics.

The current Council’s term of office will continue through to 30 June 2019.
