Victorians Pre-Commit On YourPlay

20 May 2016

Victoria’s pre-commitment scheme, YourPlay, is helping thousands to make more informed choices about how much time and money they are spending on gaming machines.

Preliminary data found more than 23,400 pre-commitment cards have been activated since the voluntary scheme was rolled out in December last year.

YourPlay is Australia’s first networked pre-commitment scheme which allows users to track the money and time they spend at any gaming machine in Victoria.

In its first six months, YourPlay has delivered more than 2.5 million responsible gambling messages during 818,000 gaming machine sessions.

More than 1730 users who have set personalised messages to be displayed to them when they approach their playing limit.

Of the 23,404 cards activated, 8130 have been registered and 15,274 are casual cards. Both cards allow users to limit their time and money, and track the total amount they spend on gaming machines anywhere in the state.

YourPlay users can see a live action summary on a display screen, which tracks the money and time they spend at the gaming machine. For the first time, players can leave a gaming venue knowing exactly how much time and money they have spent.
