Victorian Coastal Grants Now Open

22 September 2017

The Andrews Labor Government has announced nearly $1 million in funding to improve the safety, access and amenity of Victorian coastal areas.

The funding is part of the Coastal Public Access and Risk Program that provides financial assistance to Victorian coastal crown land managers, including volunteer committees of management and local governments, to reduce coastal risk and improve public access.

Applications for the Coastal Public Access and Risk Program funding are now open.

Coastal crown land managers are encouraged to apply for funding of up to $150,000 for projects that reduce coastal risk through identification, mitigation and monitoring.

In previous years committees of management have used the funding to create new or enhance existing infrastructure, such as improving beach stairways, building new access ramps and installing new signage.

Applications are open for five weeks and must be submitted online by Friday 20 October 2017.
