Victoria: A New State Of Momentum

25 August 2016

Victoria's newest and boldest trade and investment campaign will spruik the benefits of doing business in our state.

Launched today by Premier Daniel Andrews, during his economic address at Jobs for Victoria, the $2.5 million ‘Victoria: A State of Momentum’ campaign showcases the state's strengths as a business destination.

Highlighting our highly skilled workforce, the lowest business costs on the eastern seaboard and the world's most liveable city, the campaign aims to encourage investment, grow exports and promote Victoria's businesses to the rest of the world.

To date, more than 150,000 Victorian jobs have been created since the Labor Government came to office and between now and the end of the year, we expect to create over 2,200 jobs directly through our trade facilitation work.

Print and digital advertising will run nationally and internationally and include the stories of companies who are taking their exports to the world or who've chosen to make Victoria their home, including Swisse, Uniqlo, GoPro and Carman’s.

As well as encouraging greater international investment, the campaign builds on the Andrews Labor Government's commitment to job creation and supports Trade and Investment Victoria’s objective of attracting $2.2 billion in additional new investment in 2016/17.

In his keynote address, the Premier flagged that the Labor Government will be ‘hands on’ – a government that actively manages the economy and chases global opportunity to build business and secure Victorian jobs.
