Premier

Top VCE Students Recognised

27 April 2017

Young, innovative and vocal – this year’s Premier’s VCE Award winners are destined for great futures.

Minister for Education James Merlino presented the students with their awards at a ceremony today and congratulated them on their hard work.

The awards recognise young Victorians who have completed the Victorian Certificate of Education with distinction.

A 15-year-old studying university-level maths, an aspiring visual designer from regional Victoria and Australia’s national public speaking champion are among this year’s recipients.

25 students received the Top All-Round VCE High Achiever Award, which recognises students who achieved study scores of 46 or higher out of 50 in at least five VCE subjects.

The Premier’s VCE Awards showcase the Andrews Labor Government’s vision for the Education State - strong VCE results come from engaged students with the support of excellent teachers. We want all students to have access to a first-rate education so that they can unlock their full potential.
