Today we apologise for the forcible removal of Aboriginal children from their families. Today is National Sorry Day.

26 May 2016

But like any apology, if nothing changes, it doesn't mean very much.

Governments have been making the decisions on their own for too long.

Aboriginal people know what is right for their communities and what is right for their culture.

Victoria's treaty with Aboriginal Victorians will be the first of its kind in our nation's history.

And Aboriginal people will lead this change.

That's something we can all be proud of.
