Principal Appointed For North Geelong School

28 April 2017

An inaugural principal has been appointed to lead North Geelong Special Development School.

Minister for Education James Merlino and Member for Lara John Eren today announced that Suzanne Armstrong will be the principal of the new school.

Opening in 2018, North Geelong Special Development School will provide specialist education services for students with a disability from ages five to 18.

The school, which will have capacity for 168 students, will feature a hydrotherapy pool, games hall and sensory gym area, liberty swing for children in wheelchairs, and dedicated spaces for healthcare professionals.

Ms Armstrong is more than ready for the role, having been the principal of Colac Specialist School since July 2006.

She is excited about working closely with the community to establish the school from the ground up, following 32 years of experience in the education sector.

North Geelong Special Development School is one of 42 new government schools in the construction pipelines following a record $1.8 billion investment by the Andrews Labor Government in new schools and school upgrades around the state.
