Planning An Exciting Future For Upwey High School

19 April 2016

Upwey High School will be able to get on and plan a more exciting future, thanks to funding from the Andrews Labor Government.

Minister for Education and Member for Monbulk James Merlino MP today announced that the school will now be able to get started on the planning necessary to upgrade and modernise its school buildings.

This includes upgrading and modernising school buildings, additional basketball courts, a new performing arts centre and home for the Dandenong Ranges Music Council, and relocating the schools administration facilities.

The additional basketball courts will deliver a new home base for local clubs.

Detailed planning work is the first step towards future upgrades at Upwey High School.

By funding more planning, more upgrades and building more schools, the Labor Government is making Victoria the Education State.

The 2016/17 Victorian Budget includes $12 million for school planning across our state, with Upwey High School one of 34 schools to receive funding.
