New Train And Bus Timetables With More Services For Bendigo

13 January 2016

Minister for Public Transport and Member for Bendigo East, Jacinta Allan, and Member for Bendigo West, Maree Edwards, today released new train and bus timetables for Bendigo, which highlight a massive boost to services from 31 January.

In just a few weeks’ time, the Andrews Labor Government will deliver an extra morning and afternoon service for Bendigo.

The new morning service will depart Epsom Station at 7:00am and stop all stations to Southern Cross, arriving at 9:07am. The afternoon service will leave Southern Cross at 4:02pm and arrive in Bendigo just before 6:00pm.

The first stage of Bendigo Metro Rail also kicks off at the end of the month, with more frequent train services for Epsom, Eaglehawk and Kangaroo Flat.

Epsom will get 10 extra weekday services, Eaglehawk will get an extra evening service and all weekday trains between Bendigo and Melbourne will stop at Kangaroo Flat.

Bendigo’s bigger, better bus network also kicks off at the end of the month, with a new and improved bus network for Spring Gully, Huntly, Eaglehawk, Jackass Flat and Epsom.

Bus services will be extended to new areas, including with a new cross town service operating from Huntly to Kangaroo Flat, plus a new service to Jackass Flat and expansion into growth areas in Strathfieldsaye and Huntly.

Additional consultation will also take place in early 2016 around bus services to the Junortoun area to ensure public transport continues to adapt to meet the changing needs and growing demand of the local population.

New materials and timetables are now available at staffed V/Line stations, the PTV Hub at Bendigo Marketplace, and on the V/Line and PTV’s website and Journey Planner App.

More than 36,000 brochures explaining the new train and bus services will also be delivered to homes across Bendigo.
