Minister for Environment, Climate Change and Water, Lisa Neville has made five appointments to the Victorian Environmental Assessment Council (VEAC), including reappointment of Chairperson Phillip Honeywood.
The appointed members of the council are:
- Mr Phillip Honeywood (Chairperson)
- Dr Charles Meredith
- Ms Joanne Duncan
- Ms Anna Kilborn, and
- Dr Geoffrey Wescott
The appointees have expertise and experience across a range of sectors, including education, water, natural resources, regional affairs, training, coastal management, and ecology.
Phillip Honeywood and Charles Meredith were both appointed to the council in 2012, and their re-appointment marks their second terms on the Council. The chair will serve a period of two years, while council members will serve three.
The Victorian Environmental Assessment Council conducts investigations requested by the Victorian Government, relating to the protection and sustainable management of the state’s environment and public land.
VEAC is currently undertaking the following investigations:
- Investigation into historic places on public land in Victoria
- Statewide Assessment of Public Land
