New Arts And Science Facilities Opened At Dandenong High School

Minister for Education, James Merlino, today officially opened the latest stage of the Dandenong High School redevelopment.

The $10 million Stage 3 works, completed at the end of 2014, delivered the Melaleuca Building and a refurbished the Senior Science Wing.

The Melaleuca Building houses a double-court gymnasium as well as a performing arts centre complete with a professional-standard recording studio, dance studio and a 350-seat theatrette.

These extensive facilities will be available for use to local primary schools and community groups.

The school – which was established in 1919 – has long been recognised for its excellence in education, which is to the benefit of the surrounding culturally diverse community.
