New Abcor Plant A Win For Manufacturing

Minister for Industry, Lily D’Ambrosio, today unveiled Abcor’s new multi-million dollar facility in Campbellfield.

The new plant represents a $5 million investment by the company to support its new contract with Toyota Australia. In a welcome development for the local manufacturing industry, the project will create 30 new jobs.

The facility will feature highly specialised manufacturing and assembly line equipment, and in collaboration with the company’s existing facilities, is expected to produce over 12,000 steel bull bars a year for the new generation Toyota HiLux.

The Andrews Labor Government is committed to safeguarding the future of the state’s automotive industry through the $200 million Future Industries Fund, which will assist car component manufacturers to develop and build new products.

The Labor Government is establishing a $10.5 million Innovation and Investment Fund for Melbourne’s North. Under this fund, eligible projects will be supported to build new or additional business capacity that results in sustainable jobs in the region.
