Moreland Advancing Towards A Zero Carbon Future

03 June 2015

Minister for Energy & Resources, Lily D’Ambrosio, has congratulated the Moreland community for reaffirming its commitment to a carbon neutral future.

The Moreland municipality is making great progress in its goal of reducing greenhouse emissions by 22 per cent by 2020, as revealed at today’s Moreland Energy Foundation Zero Carbon Evolution Strategy event held in Coburg.

The Zero Carbon Evolution Strategy has outlined a number of practical initiatives aimed at assisting households and businesses transition to a cleaner, and more sustainable, energy future.

The Andrews Labor Government is a strong advocate of renewable energy as it creates jobs, drives growth and helps to maintain our lifestyle and protect the environment.

The Government has established a $20 million New Energy Jobs Fund which will offer support to community groups and businesses developing renewable energy projects. It has also moved to retain the Victorian Energy Efficiency Target scheme, which will protect 2,000 jobs across the State.
