Minister for Roads and Ports Tim Pallas is the Minister for Roads and Ports. Tim oversees Victoria's extensive roads network, road safety initiatives and Victoria's world-class ports. He also has responsibility for logistics and marine safety issues. Tim is the Victorian representative on the Australian Transport Council, the peak body for Commonwealth, State, Territory and local Governments that coordinates and integrates transport and road policy issues. Tim was elected Member for Tarneit in November 2006 and was appointed as the Minister for Roads and Ports in December, 2006. Prior to being elected to Parliament his role was as Chief of Staff to the Premier of Victoria, Steve Bracks, a position held from October 1999. He worked as Chief of Staff for Mr Bracks when Opposition Leader from March 1999. Tim was born in Newcastle, New South Wales and has degrees in both Arts and Law from the Australian National University. | ||
