Minister for Energy and Resources and Community Development Peter Batchelor is the Minister for Energy & Resources and Minister for Community Development in the Brumby Government. Peter is also the Leader of the Government in the Legislative Assembly. Born on 21 September 1950 in Sydney, Peter has been the member for the Thomastown electorate since 1990. The electorate of Thomastown includes Fawkner and Reservoir and parts of Epping, Lalor and Thomastown. Prior to being elected to Parliament, he was State Secretary of the Victorian Branch of the from 1983 - 1990 and was also as an official at the Furnishing Trades Union from 1972-82. Peter has held a number of Ministerial portfolios including Major Projects and Minister for Transport (including Public Transport, Roads and Ports). | ||
