Diverters around Lake Mokoan will soon enjoy year-round, reliable
access to water following the commencement of the $14.5 million Lake
Mokoan Diverters Pipeline Project.
Melbourne’s water authorities are investing more than $5 billion in
major projects over the next four years to boost water supplies,
increase the use of recycled water and reduce leaks and bursts from the
system.
The Bendigo region will use up to four billion litres of recycled water
every year from the new Recycled Water Factory at Epsom which
was officially opened today.
A proposal to set aside a water reserve each year to ensure irrigation
systems in northern Victoria operate even in the driest years, is one
of a range of new measures considered in the Draft Northern Region
Sustainable Water Strategy.
