Arts Minister Lynne Kosky today helped launch plans for a $1.1 million
upgrade to the Australian Print Workshop (APW) and announced a $150,000
contribution from the Brumby Government.
The centrepiece of Melbourne’s winning City of Literature bid – the
creation of Australia’s first Centre for Books, Writing and Ideas – is
taking shape with today’s announcement by Arts Minister Lynne Kosky of
the inaugural board and a search for a Director to manage the centre.
Victoria’s finest artists and performance companies will be on show
from Moorabbin to Mildura thanks to a $730,000 Brumby Government grant
to bring the best of the state’s creativity to regional and country
areas.
Selected art galleries in Victoria’s metropolitan and regional areas
will open their doors free of charge to the public on Sunday 26 October
as part of the Get into Art initiative.
