The Brumby Government has welcomed the Federal Government’s
announcement on a planned Voluntary National Media and Industry Code of
Conduct on body image.
Sporting identities joined community welfare groups at Lilydale Lake
today to promote sport, recreation activities and to inspire residents
to get active.
This year’s Tour de France runner-up Cadel Evans and Beijing Olympic
gold medallist Leisel Jones have been honoured as Victoria’s athletes
of the year at the prestigious 2008 VicSport Awards last night.
Construction of a National Ice Sports Centre at Docklands is scheduled
to begin early next year after the Brumby Government secured a
financial partnership for the project.
