Infrastructure Australia backs East West Link

Infrastructure Australia have brought out their report today.

What it shows is that it is good news for Victoria.

Of the ten projects which are either ready for funding or ready for development funding, of the ten, five are here in Victoria.

East West is an important part of that.

It is absolutely crucial that you have a city of more than four million people, that it needs a ring road.

And what we want is for East West to be properly funded so we can get on and do this project.

At the Budget we committed $15 million to start the business case, to start the drilling, and that is why we are here today.

We are doing another drilling, these drillings are very important to have a better understanding of what is underneath here and that is important for the base cases that is being prepared, which will be completed early next year.
