Coalition Government’s first anniversary message from the Premier

TRANSCRIPT:

I am very proud of our government's achievements over the last twelve months.

It was a great honour and of course a great privilege to be elected by Victorians last year.

Since then we have been working hard in very challenging times to deliver on the commitments we made to Victorians.

We have delivered improvements to community safety, critical services such as transport and health and addressed cost of living pressures.

We have stood up for Victoria on crucial issues like the GST and carbon tax and to secure funding for families and communities affected by the terrible floods which hit Victoria earlier this year.

We've eased cost of living pressures by reducing stamp duty for first home buyers, expanding electricity concessions and reducing ambulance subscriptions.

We are determined to deliver our commitments made to the people of Victoria.

Despite being left with a difficult financial situation including large shortfalls left by our predecessors, we will be responsible in managing the economy.

Our aim is to make Victoria the best and build for the future by securing jobs, investment and interest in our state.

There will be some tough decisions ahead but we will be honest with Victorians and accountable and transparent.

Victoria was built on a spirit of ambition and aspiration.

Victorians have got what it takes to be the best and make the most of the immense opportunities that do lie ahead.
