A new chapter has begun in the life of Melbourne’s Olympic Park with its redevelopment as a football oval and running track now open and available to the public, Minister for Major Projects David Hodgett announced today.

At today’s final of the Stawell Gift, Minister for Sport and Recreation Hugh Delahunty joined Stawell Gift and Challenge competitors including Jamaican Olympic sprint legend Asafa Powell and Australian Olympian Josh ‘the Boss’ Ross to announce $40,000 from the Victorian Government’s Significant Sporting Events Program towards the 2013 IAAF Qantas Melbourne World Challenge.
