Education Minister visits Beaufort schools
Education Minister Martin Dixon and Member for Western Victoria David Koch visited Beaufort Primary School and Beaufort Secondary College today.
Mr Dixon and Mr Koch met with staff at the two schools and sat down with school leaders to discuss the future of the two schools, with Beaufort Primary School set to move to the secondary college site, forming the Beaufort Education Centre.
"With Beaufort Pre-School already at the Beaufort Education Centre, bringing primary, secondary and early years education together on the one site means more opportunities for local students," Mr Dixon said.
Mr Koch praised the leadership of both schools.
"It is an exciting time for Beaufort and it was a great opportunity to be able to bring Minister Dixon to these two outstanding schools and to see how they are planning for the future," Mr Koch said.
"This project has been a long time coming and with building works set to begin later this year, the future is bright for students in Beaufort."
The Victorian Coalition Government provided $3 million towards the co-location of the primary school on the secondary college site.
