New $3.5 million gymnasium for Gisborne Secondary College
Gisborne Secondary College students will soon be jumping for joy in their new gymnasium, thanks to $3.5 million in funding from the Victorian Coalition Government.
Education Minister Martin Dixon and the Member for Northern Victoria Donna Petrovich today visited the school to see the plans for the new gymnasium.
"I am thrilled that the Coalition Government is able to provide $3.5 million for the fourth stage of works at Gisborne Secondary College," Mr Dixon said.
"This funding will mean Gisborne students can enjoy a state-of-the-art gymnasium, which will make a huge difference to the school's sports curriculum.
"Schools are the hearts of their communities, and having a fully-equipped gymnasium means Gisborne students will soon be benefitting from this wonderful facility."
Mr Dixon also visited Romsey Primary School, where he discussed the Coalition Government's announcement of a $250,000 feasibility study, announced in last month's State Budget, to determine whether the area needs a new secondary college.
"The Coalition Government has commissioned this study to see if the Romsey and Lancefield areas have the population to support a secondary college," Ms Petrovich said.
