Today I am pleased to announce a number of changes to senior appointments within the Victorian Public Service.
Andrew Tongue will join the Victorian Public Service as the Secretary of the Department of Planning and Community Development. Mr Tongue has a distinguished career history with the Commonwealth Public Service, most recently as Deputy Secretary of the Commonwealth Department of Families, Housing, Community Services and Indigenous Affairs.
Richard Bolt will become Secretary of the Department of Education and Early Childhood Development. Mr Bolt has been the Secretary of the Department of Primary Industries since 2006 and has a strong record of public administration and policy reform.
Jeff Rosewarne will become the Secretary of the Department of Primary Industries. Mr Rosewarne has led the Department of Education Early Childhood and Development for most of the last year and prior to this served in a Deputy Secretary role in that Department.
I welcome all secretaries to their new positions and I would like to thank the VPS team for their professionalism and leadership.
I wish also to record my thanks on behalf of the Victorian Government to Yehudi Blacher, who is retiring from the position of Secretary of the Department of Planning and Community Development. Mr Blacher has made a significant contribution to the Victorian public service over the last 30 years and made an important contribution to the state of Victoria.
