Government Receives Report Of The Royal Commission Into Family Violence

29 March 2016

Premier Daniel Andrews has today received the report of the Royal Commission into Family Violence.

The report will be immediately public after it is tabled in Parliament at 11am tomorrow.

The Andrews Labor Government has promised to implement all the Royal Commission’s recommendations.

We will put family violence victims at the heart of our reforms.

The Labor Government last week injected almost $10 million of immediate funding for family violence victim survivors.

We have also established a Victim-Survivors’ Advisory Council, chaired by former Australian of the Year Rosie Batty, and a Family Violence Steering Committee to help us reform our family violence system.

Quotes attributable to the Premier Daniel Andrews

“This report will change everything. Our family violence system has failed victims for too long.”
