First Principal Appointed For Bannockburn P-12

27 April 2017

The inaugural principal has been appointed to the soon to be opened Bannockburn P-12.

Minister for Education James Merlino and Member for Western Victoria Gayle Tierney today announced Rob Nelson as the principal of the brand new school.

Opening in 2018, Bannockburn P-12 will accommodate 475 prep to Year six students and 720 Year seven to 12 students.

Mr Nelson, who is the current principal of Bannockburn Primary School, will transition the primary students to the new school. He is more than ready for the challenge having worked for almost 12 years as principal of Bannockburn Primary.

Mr Nelson will work with staff and the community to ensure Bannockburn that the impressive facilities at this new school can meet the needs of both primary and secondary students.

A community information session will be held in the first half of 2017 for local residents to meet Mr Nelson, discuss enrolments and learn about the new school’s design and features.

Bannockburn P-12 is one of 42 new government schools in the construction pipeline following a record $1.8 billion investment by the Andrews Labor Government in new schools and school upgrades around the State.
