Father's Day Fun For Families At The Stawell Trots

02 September 2017

Dads will enjoy a day out at the Stawell harness races this Father’s Day thanks to $6,500 from the Andrews Labor Government.

The Labor Government is supporting the annual Father’s Day Trots Meeting tomorrow through the Victorian Racing Industry Fund Raceday Attraction Program.

The Stawell Harness Racing Club is also contributing more than $9,000 towards the event.

Celebrations for the Father’s Day meeting will include family friendly activities with showbags for children, a vintage car display, a laser tag game, and bucking bull rides and pony trots.

Racegoers will be entertained throughout the day with live music from local artist Dave McMaster, and the club will be giving away prizes with a combined value of more than $5,800.

Prizes will include a helicopter ride over the Grampians, tandem sky diving vouchers, two home brew kits, a mobile barrier ride, food and beverage vouchers as well as betting vouchers.

Since 2014, the Labor Government has invested more than $318,000 at Stawell for four infrastructure projects, including $273,000 for the recently completed track upgrade, as well as supporting a number of events at Laidlaw Park including the Stawell Cup and the club’s popular Australia Day race meetings.
