17 March 2015

Australia’s largest paint manufacturer Dulux will invest $165 million to establish a major new paint manufacturing facility in Melbourne’s north, creating more than 60 new full time jobs.

Dulux is already a major employer in Victoria, with nearly 1,000 workers. The new facility will create 200 indirect jobs during the construction phase and 64 ongoing full time equivalent jobs, including 53 operational and 11 management/technical roles.

The new facility will be developed at Merrifield Estate on Melbourne’s outer northern fringe and will supply Dulux’s network of trade and retail customers.

Dulux’s investment was secured through financial support and facilitation by the Victorian Government through the Department of Economic Development.

support for local manufacturers complements the Andrews Labor Government’s Back to Work Plan to create 100,000 jobs.

The Andrews Labor Government is also building the projects our state needs, including the Melbourne Metro Rail Project and the Level Crossing Removal Project, which together will create around 8,000 jobs.
