The North and West Metropolitan region encompasses the western and northern suburbs of Melbourne and their outer lying areas, as well as central Melbourne encompassing suburbs from Werribee to Eltham.
Some of the projects where the Brumby Government is taking action on roads and public transport include:

1.New electrified line to Craigieburn, new stations at Craigieburn and Roxburgh Park and added new services from Craigieburn.
2.Ordered 18 new trains to cut congestion.
3.Duplicating the line between Clifton Hill and Westgarth.
4.Funding for the Deer Park Bypass.
5.Funding for the Tullamarine-Calder interchange.
6.Expansion of SmartBus network including Red Orbital SmartBus from Box Hill to Altona.
