The Loddon region is located north west of Melbourne and extends from Mildura on the Victorian / New South Wales border, through regional centres such as Swan Hill, Kerang, Boort, Bendigo and Kyneton to the south.
Some of the projects where the Brumby Government is taking action on roads and public transport include:

1.$53 million freight upgrade as the first stage in the reintroduction of passenger rail to Mildura.
2.Major renovation of Swan Hill Railway Station to improve passenger and staff facilities.
3.The return of weekly train services to Echuca.
4.The new VLocity trains started operating from Bendigo as part of the Regional Fast Rail Bendigo project.
5.Funding for the Calder Freeway/Highway.
6.Reduce the cost of V/Line tickets by on average 20%.
