The Grampians region is bounded by the Grampians National Park and South Australian border to the west, through the towns of Horsham, Nhill, Dimboola, Stawell, Ararat, Daylesford, Ballarat to Bacchus Marsh just outside Melbourne and from Patchewollock in the north to Lake Bolac in the south.
Some of the projects where the Brumby Government is taking action on roads and public transport include:

1.A second railway station in Ballarat.
2.New bus facilities have been installed at 16 primary and secondary schools through the Grampians region as part of the Rural School Bus Safety program.
3.Train services to Ararat recommenced on 11 July 2004.
4.The new VLocity trains started operating from Ballarat as part of the Regional Fast Rail Ballarat project.
5.Funding for the Deer Park Bypass.
6.Reduce the cost of V/Line tickets by on average 20%.
